Accommodation: Yasmak Sultan Hotel

After breakfast, you will be picked up by your guide and you will start the day visiting the Spice Bazaar, the second largest covered one in Istanbul. It offers natural medicines, spices, roots, shells, rare plants and Turkish delights. This is an atmospheric place, full of colours and fragrances. The best part is that you get to taste what is on offer!

You will then drive along the Golden Horn and arrive at the harbour of old Istanbul to embark on an unforgettable cruise on the Bosphorus. This is the best way to see the city’s incredible architecture along the European and Asian shores. You will be able to see 19th-century wooden mansions, the Rumeli Fortress built in only 3 months by Mehmet the Conqueror, the Anatolian fortress, the fancy palaces of Dolmabahce and Beylerbeyi and hunting lodges.

You will then enjoy a traditional lunch.

Your visit then continues with the Valide Mosque also called New Mosque and completed in 1664. It was the last imperial mosque built in the classical style. Then you will get to visit the Topkapi Palace, the residence of early and mid-era Ottoman Sultans. The palace was their principal residence and the centre of administration from the 15th to the 19th century. You will see the fabulous imperial treasury, the Baghdad kiosk, holy relics and the kitchen section with its finest collection of Chinese celadon ceramics.

Accommodation: Yasmak Sultan Hotel

After breakfast, your guide will take you on a half-day Imperial Tour. This visit starts with Hagia Sophia museum, considered as the 8th wonder of the world, what was originally built as a basilica changed functions over the centuries and is now a museum. From there you will go to Blue Mosque, called like this because of the world famous exquisite blue Iznik tiles decorating its interior. This is the only imperial mosque in the world that was originally built with 6 minarets and is Istanbul’s most photogenic building. You will then continue to Hippodrome Square, the sporting and social centre of old Byzantium that held 100.000 spectators and featured objects such as the Egyptian Obelisk or the Serpent Column. Today it is one of the city’s most popular meeting places and promenades. And finally, you will go to the largest and oldest covered bazaar in the world, the centre of trade and commerce in Istanbul: the Grand Bazaar.

Afternoon free

In the evening you will be picked up at the hotel for a dinner cruise. This is a great way to learn about the culture as traditional dances will be performed from different regions of Turkey. You will also see a belly dancer. Enjoy a full Turkish menu, music from a DJ and local drinks, a night to remember!

Accommodation: Yasmak Sultan Hotel

This morning you will get to learn more about one of the richest food in the world during a cooking class tour. You will first go to the Spice Bazaar to buy all the ingredients and local spices to then be able to prepare a 3-course menu with a local. Enjoy classics of the historical Ottoman cuisine and favourites of the traditional Turkish home. One thing is sure, you will only want more of this delicious cuisine!

In the afternoon you will be picked up by your driver to get pampered in a traditional Hammam, an unforgettable experience! Enjoy a 15-minute massage and scrub and re-vitalize. Then leave yourself to the masterful water and let the attendants wash you at the marble of the basin, you will feel completely relaxed and peaceful.
