Lisbon, a historical city full of stories to tell, where the sun shines 290 days a year and the temperature rarely drops below 15°C. A city where you feel safe wandering around day or night, where the cuisine is dedicated to creating over a thousand ways to cook the beloved bacalhau (salted cod), and where you will feel like exploring more and more. Discover Lisbon, a city full of authenticity where old customs and ancient history intermix with cultural entertainment and hi-tech innovation. Lisbon is ageless, but it loves company, as you’ll find out if you meet someone and ask them to explain, with lots of gestures and repetition, where the best place is to listen to Fado. After all, Lisbon is famous for its hospitality and its warm welcoming way. So what are you waiting for Girls on Travel? This incredible city is waiting for you!

Today it is finally time to discover this great city with the best guide. You will start the day with the neighbourhood of Chiado, Lisbon’s most elegant and trendiest area where most of the buildings are from the 1700s. You will be able to spot theatres, old bookstores or major international brands. From there you will continue to Bairro Alto, a daylight bohemian district that changes into a party place at night, when restaurants open their doors and the crowd comes. Continue to the attractive neighbourhood of Principe Real, named in honour of Queen Maria II’s firstborn. Then, continue to Bica, one of Lisbon’s most photographed street and neighbourhood and where the funicular goes up and down the hill since 1892.

Lunch Time

You will then continue to the neighbourhood of Baixa. This part of downtown Lisbon was completely rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake. The streets now connect to squares, cafés and the waterfront, being reborn as a commercial tourist area. On your way, taste a pastel de Nata, this typical egg tart pastry from Portugal.

Enjoy a break in the afternoon with a Port wine tasting. Discover this sweet local wine, its varieties, processes and tastes.

Back at the accommodation.

In the evening, you will be taken to a typical restaurant and enjoy an enchanting evening listening to Fado and eating delicious local meals. Considered as the soul of Portuguese music, it is the musical expression of the Portuguese people. An evening to remember!
